Dress a Girl November 2nd at BCC

Mark your calendars for the Browncroft Community Church Dress A Girl Around the World service project.  Saturday, November 2nd from 9a-2p at BCC in the Fellowship Hall.  Food provided.  No child care sorry. 

bring your friends, family & groups and spend the day making dresses and dolls for Orphans and children in need here in the states and around the world. 

Bring sewing machine if you have one and some donations items if you can...

Dress a Girl Event Saturday, August 24th!


Attention all area Givers,

Please join us this Saturday, August 24th in the Browncroft Community Church Fellowship Hall for a Dress a Girl pillow case and Humanitarian doll making event. 

From 9a-2p enjoy a community of DAG fans that love to serve with others in creating beautiful dolls and dresses for Orphans and children in need here in the states and around the world. 

The items we make this Saturday will be blessing children in the Dominican Republic.  Our very own NY state DAG Rep Mary Jo Colligan will be going on a mission trip in December to the DR and will deliver these precious creations. 

Bring a sewing machine if you have one, scissors, family, friends, neighbors,  groups, and needs donation items.

Breakfast and lunch provided.  No child care. 

Items in need:  non see through fabric, extra wide double fold bias tape, 1” white elastic, flannel, gathered lace, cotton face colored fabric, hair colored yarn, 1 quart plastic zip lock bags.

Thank you to all who participated in BCC VBS this past week!  We make 50 dolls and 50 kits and collected 95 Beanie Babies for Orphans and children here in the states and around the world!

BCC VBS 6th Graders make dolls for Dress a Girl Around the World

Vacation Bible School at Browncroft Community Church is full of life this week!  The 6th grade VBS girls and boys are making Dress a Girl Humanitarian dolls to put in Dress A Girl dress pockets. 
It's the service project for the week and as of Thursday 6/27/13 we have 30 finished dolls and 93 Beanie Babies collected and counting!  The kids are learning how to "STITCH, SEW & SERVE"  
for Orphans here in the states and around the world. 
Way to go 6th graders and DAG table helpers!

Another BCC Dress a Girl event...Mark your Calendars!

Our next Browncroft Community Church Dress A Girl event is Saturday, Aug. 24th from 9a-2p
 so mark your calendars!!!
Items in need for this event.  Please bring:  Sewing machine if you have one (we need sewers!)
Dresses:   Pretty non~see through fabric (must not see your hand through the fabric), extra wide double fold bias tape of any color, 7/8"grosgrain ribbon, 1" elastic
     Dolls:       tan and brown fabric for doll faces, pretty flannels for doll blanket, hair colored yarn, lace, fiber fill, needles from Joann's or sewing store
     Cash donations in the form of:   Joann's and Michael's gift cards if you can't make the event so we can purchase the above items and continue to sew God's best dress!!!

*We just shipped over 900 dresses to the OM ship headed to Sri Lanka!!! 
*The dresses we made at the last BCC DAG were sent to school #28 in Rochester for their Kindergarten classes.   Blessing near and far!!!
*We will be making dolls with the BCC VBS 6th graders the week of June 28th!
*Help us  make dress and doll kits...call Tara at 301-3272 to help cut and assemble kits for sewers

DONATION ITEMS NEEDED FOR NEXT EVENT: elastic,non see through fabric, extra wide double ...fold bias tape and 7/8" grosgrain ribbon, fleece and embroidery thread for the next event. Also introducing a new doll pattern on May 4th so don't miss it!

DAG Dresses on there way to the Philippines!

 DAG NY sent 2167 Dress A Girl Dresses to the OM Ship Warehouse and they safely arrived.  From there they will go to the Philippines to dress and Bless 2167 little girls!  Thank you for everyone's hard work in making these precios Dress A Girl Pillow Case dresses for this Mission. 
Another 2000 are needed by June so keep sewing! Next Browncroft Community Church DAG event:  May 4th.  Bring sewing machine if you have one, 7/8" grosgrain ribbon, non see through fabric and pillow cases.

2013 BCC Dress A Girl Around the World News… 

  • BCC DAG Cambodia team leaves February 10th! Pam Messmer and Diana Sharlow will be in Cambodia on the OM Hope Ship visiting schools, orphanages and villages to help deliver the 13,000 dresses we collected across the nation!  Eight women total across the country will be going on this trip…Including Rachel Eggum who started DAG!  If you’d like to send them off with a DAG hug meet us at the airport on 2/10 at 6:10am.  To see them return the ladies are scheduled to return on Tues. 2/19 at 3:45p.  You can hear their stories at our next BCC DAG event…Thank you Joan for leading this team!

·        BCC DAG presented to the BCC SALT Seniors group.  They learned all about Dress A Girl!  


·        BCC 2ND GRADE Pioneer Girls learned about dress a girl and made dolls for the dress pockets!  Great job girls!!!

·        BCC 4th grade Pioneer girls are collecting Beanie Babies at BCC and schools for DAG.  So far 110!!!!  They even have Dewitt school collecting them!  Way to go Girls!  Thank you so much!

BCC Pioneer girls make Dress A Girl Dolls for Orphans
